Some delivery drivers throw packages on the porch of customers. And customers aren't too happy. However, what customers may think will happen to their packages just might not be the case.

When it comes to the delivery of packages, Amazon has become a household name. With their vast network of delivery drivers, they ensure that products are delivered to customers' doorsteps in a timely manner. However, there have been concerns raised about the way these drivers handle packages, with some customers reporting instances of packages being thrown onto their porches, perhaps unprofessionally.
It is understandable that customers may feel uneasy when they witness their packages being tossed onto their porch. After all, these packages may contain fragile items or electronics that could potentially get damaged during the delivery process. While it is natural to be concerned, it is important to note that Amazon takes several measures to ensure that the items inside the packages remain intact.
Firstly,
Amazon provides its delivery drivers with training on how to handle packages properly. They are instructed to treat each package with care and to avoid any actions that could potentially cause damage. However, it is important to acknowledge that human error can occur, and not all drivers may adhere to these guidelines at all times.
Sometimes delivery drivers are just so caught up in their momentum. After several hours of creating a specific workflow that's comfortable for them, they are in a zone. They have been listening to their favorite tunes, implemented a newly effective and efficient organizational structure (perhaps), and have built more muscle mass throughout their workdays that have made the physical aspect of their job easier. Upon seeing drivers throw packages, they could have completed half of their route and did so in a satisfactory time. They are in a comfortable zone of contentment.
If no one stops and confronts a delivery man to snap them out of that habit of throwing packages on customers' porches, they'll continue. However, packages are known to be packaged to be protected from various package handling conditions.
Secondly,
Amazon utilizes packaging materials that are designed to protect the contents of the packages. From bubble wrap to air-filled cushions, these materials are strategically placed to provide a cushioning effect, minimizing the risk of damage during transit. Additionally, many products themselves are packaged by the manufacturers with protective measures in place.
While it is true that some customers have complained about packages being thrown onto their porches, it is important to consider the vast number of successful deliveries that occur every day. Instances of damaged packages are relatively rare, and Amazon has a customer-friendly return and refund policy in place for those rare occasions when damage does occur.
For my multiple-year tenure as an Amazon delivery driver, and throwing packages at times (pretending to play basketball), I've never caused the content within the packaging to break.
Customers complain. But just like the article suggests, there are protectants to ensure that packages are safe from damage. I never spiked a package on the ground, and I'm sure any other Amazon delivery driver en route would not do such a horrible act either.
If you do receive a package that appears to be damaged, it is advisable to contact Amazon's customer service immediately. They are committed to resolving any issues promptly and ensuring customer satisfaction. By reporting any concerns, you are not only helping yourself but also providing valuable feedback to Amazon, enabling them to address any potential issues with their delivery process.
In conclusion,
while it may be disconcerting to witness Amazon delivery drivers throwing packages onto porches, it is important to trust in the measures that Amazon has in place to protect the contents of those packages. With proper training and the use of protective packaging materials, the majority of deliveries are successful and undamaged. If you do encounter any issues, Amazon's customer service is readily available to assist you and ensure your satisfaction. Try to open, and look inside your Amazon packages for damages before getting upset with a driver for throwing it on your porch.
